Something,Written, Something Erased.

This is a ‘’Nil Omni’’ (everything is nothing) or ‘’Vanitas’’ (vanity). A 17th century pictorial tradition. Traditionally symbols for wealth, fame, knowledge, and power are referenced. A tipped wine glass or hour glass are shown. Often, references to painting have been used to show that fame through painting is also vain glory. I have changed the iconic symbols and added some other meaning in this piece.
